§ Mrs. CurrieThe research for the review of the RAWP formula looked at the relationship between a range of proxy measures of need for health care, and the use of health services, and allowed for the effects of the availability of services on their use.
Existing composite indices of deprivation, all based on data from the 1981 census, were examined. Details of the research are given in the final report on the review of the resource allocation working party formula, which is in the Library. Annex D to the report describes the indices of deprivation that were considered.
