HC Deb 21 December 1988 vol 144 c287W
Mr. Alton

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy pursuant to his answer of 8 December, what the appropriate share of decommissioning the nuclear power plants at Chapelcross and Calderhall will cost public funds over the next five years; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Michael Spicer

The operator of the nuclear power plants at Chapelcross and Calder Hall does not expect them to be taken out of service over the next five years, so no contributions from public funds to the costs of decommissioning these facilities are expected to be made over that time.
