HL Deb 26 November 1986 vol 482 c634WA
Lord Sudeley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What will be the cost to the taxpayer of implementing the provisions contained in the Family Law Reform Bill.

The Lord Chancellor

When the Bill is fully in force it is likely to require the additional services of approximately 7 registrars in the courts, 25 probation officers and 8 junior administrative staff. It is estimated that the annual cost would be about £885,000. In addition there will be some increased burden on the legal aid fund, possibly of £2.1 million.
