HC Deb 27 March 1984 vol 57 c164W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services in how many cases use of his default powers has been considered in the past two years to vouchsafe the legal entitlements of disabled people under section 2 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act; and if he will give brief details of each case still under consideration and indicate the local authority concerned.

Mr. Newton

Over the past two years my right hon. Friend has conducted inquiries into 13 cases where he was asked to consider use of his default powers in relation to this section. Inquiries have yet to be concluded in two cases—concerning the provision of a holiday by East Sussex and of adaptations by the London borough of Hackney.
