Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list in tabular form, for each year since 1970 for which figures are available (a) the numbers of chronically sick and disabled patients under 65 years resident in accommodation not conforming to section 17(1) of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970, (b) the numbers of chronically sick and disabled patients resident in younger disabled units provided by the Health Service, and (c) the number of permanent residents under 65 years in (i) homes or separate units of homes provided by local authorities, and (ii) accommodation provided on behalf of local authorities in private and voluntary homes or separate units of homes.

Figures in respect of(a) are given in column 2 of the table. Figures for (b), (c)(i) and (c)(ii) are not available centrally in the form requested; available information is given in columns 3 to 5.
