HC Deb 10 April 1984 vol 58 c201W
Mr. Ashdown

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether his Department holds indices of names and addresses of employers liable to pay national insurance contributions.

Mr. Newton

The Department's local offices maintain card index records of the employers within their areas whose national insurance records have been examined by one of the Department's inspectors. The Newcastle central office, together with Inland Revenue, maintains partly computerised mailing lists for the purpose of the issue of contributions tables.
