§ Mr. Steelasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has any plans to amend the law whereby under section 3 of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, children referred to children's panel hearings on offence grounds are treated as having convictions when applying for employment.
§ Mr. YoungerI have no plans at present to introduce amending legislation but I have recently received and am considering views on this provision advanced by representative organisations concerned with children's hearings.
