HL Deb 05 July 1982 vol 432 c652WA
Lord Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why certain documents relating to the Falklands have been withdrawn from the Public Record Office since the Falklands invasion; whether they will publish a list of those documents and in each case state when it will be replaced; and whether they will publish a summary and bibliography of the texts available, which are relevant to the question of sovereignty over the islands.

Lord Belstead

Since the Falkland Islands invasion a small number of items have been withdrawn from the Public Record Office, because they were required for use within the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Those which are no longer required have been returned to the Public Record Office. I cannot say at present when it will be possible to return the remainder. I do not intend to publish a list, summary or bibliography of these records.

House adjourned at twenty-one minutes past ten o'clock.
