HL Deb 24 February 1982 vol 427 c1008WA
Lord Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many prisoners were segregated for reasons of good order and discipline in Scottish prisons at the end of each month in 1981; what was the average number of prisoners so segregated in 1981, and what was the average population of Scottish prisons during that year.

The Earl of Mansfield

The number of prisoners segregated for reasons of good order and discipline in Scottish adult prisons at the end of each month in 1981 was as follows:—

The average number of prisoners so segregated at the end of each month during 1981 was, therefore, 6. The average daily number of convicted adults in Scottish prisons during 1981 was 3,007.
