HL Deb 21 April 1982 vol 429 cc618-20WA
Baroness David

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether micro-computers are to be provided for special schools as well as primary and secondary schools.

Viscount Trenchard

The Government'sMicros in Schools scheme, which provides 50 per cent. funding towards the purchase of one micro-computer package, is at present open to all secondary schools. Special schools catering for pupils up to age 16 are therefore eligible for the scheme.

A similar scheme for primary schools will be announced during this year. Special schools in the primary sector will of course be eligible.

House adjourned at twelve minutes past eight o'clock.
