HC Deb 29 October 1981 vol 10 c451W

Mr. Alfred Morris asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has had any recent request to use the powers available to him under section 28 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act; and whether he sees any present need to emphasise to local social services authorities that the provisions of the Act apply, wherever appropriate, as much to the mentally ill and the mentally handicapped as to the physically disabled.

Mr. Rossi: My right hon. Friend has received no such request, nor have we any reason to think that local authorities are unaware that the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 applies to mentally handicapped and mentally ill people as well as to those who are physically disabled.
