§ Mr. Soleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment why he did not include shorthold lettings in Greater London under the Housing Act 1980 in the 217W provisions of his recent order removing the requirement of fair rent registration of such lettings outside Greater London.
§ Mr. StanleyWe consider that the special character of the housing scene in London, and in inner London in particular, warrants the continuation there of the requirement for compulsory rent registration for shorthold lettings.
