§ Mrs. FennerThe Government support strict application of the present legislation, but enforcement is a matter for local authorities which must decide the priority to be given to this work. The Government also see some scope for strengthening the present law, and we are awaiting replies from the main organisations concerned on ideas for amending the law which have recently been put to them.
