HL Deb 25 March 1981 vol 418 c1273WA
Lord Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many X-rays were conducted for the purposes of the Immigration Act on children up to the age of 21 at Dacca and Islamabad respectively in each of the months of the calendar year 1980, and how many of these in each month were of parts of the body other than the left hand and wrist.

Lord Carrington

Precise figures and detailed analysis are not available. It is estimated that some 40 a month were X-rayed for age assessment purposes at Dacca during 1980 and some 34 a month at Islamabad.
