§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergThe Committee on Restrictions Against Disabled People has asked to see a copy of the report by the National Building Agency, commissioned in 1978, into the effectiveness of the existing law on access and has been informed that no decision has yet been made on its publication.

§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergThe access requirements in the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 are mandatory and provisions in a Private Member's Bill currently before Parliament will ensure that developers are made fully aware of them early in the design stage of buildings.
