§ Mr. Hannamasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Exeter of 19 December, and in view of the concern among disabled people about the possible repeal or amendment of section 2 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act and the way in which some local authorities are cutting personal social services, if he will give an assurance that 171W the Government will not repeal or amend section 2 and that his Department will issue guidelines to local authorities on the implementation of section 2 to ensure adequate protection of the elderly, chronically sick and disabled.
