Lord TAYLOR

asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (i) Slough;
  2. (iii) Harlow;
  3. (iii) Wolverhampton;
  4. (iv) Cheltenham;
  5. (v) Leeds;
  6. (vi) Harrogate.

Lord WELLS-PESTELL

The infant mortality rates are as follows:

Whether, in areas where it is physically impossible to receive more than one television programme, they will arrange to remit two-thirds of the television licence fee.

Lord BOSTON of FAVERSHAM

No. Under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 a licence is required to install or use a television set. Many factors affect reception, which can vary from house to house and from time to time. The use of a variable base for the fixing of licence fees would not be practicable.
