HC Deb 13 March 1978 vol 946 c19W
Mr. Stanley

asked the Attorney-General what steps he is taking to speed up the availability of transcripts of trial proceedings so that the hearing of appeals is not unduly delayed.

The Solicitor-General

My noble Friend is not aware of any general delay in the hearing of appeals due to non-availability of transcripts of trial proceedings. A special unit in his Department is responsible for liaison with court reporting firms, and for monitoring the production of transcripts. Particularly urgent cases are always given special attention.
