HL Deb 19 June 1978 vol 393 c943WA
Lord O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps they have taken to encourage the export of British cheese to Member States of the EEC.

Lord STRABOLGI

The Government make a wide range of services available to exporters who seek assistance. These include publicity for United Kingdom products through the medium of support for overseas trade fairs, trade missions and British shopping weeks and the provision of advice, information and assistance to individual exporters and trade associations. Inevitably, however, the promotion of cheese exports is a matter primarily for individual traders and manufacturers.
