§ Mr. Fittasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what days he has appointed for bringing the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons (Northern Ireland) Act 1978 into operation.
§ Mr. CarterMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State intends to bring the whole of the Act except for section 14 into operation on 29th December 1978. Section 14 requires the Department of the548W Environment for Northern Ireland to issue badges for display on motor vehicles used by disabled persons. It will be brought into force as soon as the regulations required under the section have been prepared and the administrative arrangements for a new car badge scheme have been completed.
