§ Mr. Dykesasked the Lord President of the Council if he will list for all bodies (other than committees) to which he appoints members, other than civil servants, the authority for making the appointment.
§ Mr. FootI appoint the lay members of independent schools tribunals under the authority of the Education Act 1944 and the members of the welfare panel for appeals under the Children Act 1948 by virtue of that Act. All my other appointments are made under the authority of the Royal Charter of the body concerned.
