asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many officers of the Customs and Excise have been allocated for out-of-hours examination at the port of Dover, at the landing office, at the station presentation of entries, repectively; and what were the equivalent figures for officers allocated for normal hours examination.

The numbers of officers of Customs employed in the port of Dover in landing and SPE offices vary from time to time according to the demands of the traffic. Figures given below are for out-of-hours and, in brackets, for normal hours attendance during a representative average week for import and export work.
