§ Mr. Roseasked the Attorney General whether he will refer to the Director of Public Prosecutions the evidence revealed in a recent court case concerning members of the Nazi para-military group Column 88 with a view to prosecution under the Public Order Act.
§ The Attorney-GeneralThe Director of Public Prosecutions is already aware of this matter. If there is any evidence of the commission of an offence under Section 2 of the Public Order Act, it will necessarily be referred to the Director, since the initiation of proceedings would require my consent. I have, however, asked the Director to obtain a report from the police and to keep me informed of the progress of investigations.
