§ The Solicitor-GeneralThe Members of the Committee, the Treasury Solicitor, the Solicitor-General and their respective staffs, carried out part of the normal duties of their respective offices, and received no fee or additional payment. Payments to junior counsel for the Crown borne by the taxpayers totalled £800 plus VAT. In addition, the cost of noting, transcribing and printing the proceedings was approximately £1,000.
