HL Deb 22 October 1975 vol 364 c1598WA
Lord O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why they continue to support the European Discussion Centre, when they have discontinued grants to other equally worthy bodies.

Lord GORONWY-ROBERTS

My Lords, I regret that many organisations which have received financial help under the Government's short-term programme for promoting European exchanges, and which are doing valuable work, have had to be informed that this assistance cannot be continued because the programme is being wound up. In view of the high value of the conferences at the European Discussion Centre, and the fact that it has no source of funds apart from Her Majesty's Government, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office are continuing to support it.

House adjourned at three minutes before midnight.
