HC Deb 04 July 1974 vol 876 cc268-9W
Mr. Spence

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his policy towards the recognition of the subject of outdoor recreation by the General Teaching Council for Scotland, so that teachers may be assessed and paid on the merit of their qualifications in this subject; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. William Ross

I see no need to introduce a teaching qualification in outdoor recreation. I am satisfied that education authorities already make suitable arrangements for the conduct of outdoor pursuits.
