§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what is the extent to which the reduction of 12,000 in the strength of the Army referred to in his statement of 3rd December is divided between troops based overseas, troops based in the United Kingdom in operational units of infantry, artillery or the Royal Armoured Corps, 98W and other troops based in the United Kingdom;
(2) what is the extent to which it is proposed to reduce the strength of the Brigade of Gurkhas; and whether this reduction is included in the total reduction of 12,000 in the strength of the Army referred to in his statement of 3rd December.
