asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection when she intends to implement the recommendations of the Director General of Fair Trading to amend the Trade Descriptions Act.

The Director General of Fair Trading has begun a thorough review of the working of the Trade Descriptions Act 1968, with the help of officials from my own and other Departments. When his recommendations are available I shall consider how and when they should be implemented.
