§ 33. Mr. Woodhouseasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will circulate guidance to local authorities to ensure that common criteria are applied in all local authority areas in carrying out the provisions of Section 2 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970.
§ Mr. AlisonThe criteria applied by each local authority in providing services under this section must depend on the availability in the area of other services provided under other powers and on the authority's resources. My right hon. Friend does not therefore regard it as practicable to formulate general criteria at the present time, but he will review the position in the light of experience.
