§ 28. Mr. David Steelasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether his Department has submitted any proposals to the EEC regarding the application of the European Social Fund as it applies to reimbursement of 50 per cent. of the costs of approved retraining schemes.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkThe Government have made an initial application for approximately £31 million from the Social Fund of which roughly £23 million is in respect of expenditure on retraining schemes in assisted areas.
