asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the number of housing starts, in both the public and private sectors, in East Suffolk during the fourth quarter of 1972; and how this compares with the fourth quarter of each year since 1965.

During 1972, 560 public sector and 2,410 private sector dwellings were reported started in East Suffolk. The percentage differences on previous years' figures are as follows:
