HL Deb 18 April 1973 vol 341 cc1209-10WA
LORD O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government whether they accept the analysis and conclusions of the article "Lead—Are you being poisoned unknowingly" in April, 1973, Which?, and, if they reject certain of its facts or recommendations, why.

LORD SANDFORD

The Government have been studying this article and have noted the views expressed in it by the Consumers Association. As the noble Lord knows, the Government have already taken positive action against lead pollution on a broad front, and are continuing to carry out and sponsor, on a large-scale, the environmental monitoring and the scientific and medical research essential to their declared policy of keeping people's intake of lead as low as practicable.
