§ Mr. George Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what reply his Department has sent to Islington Borough Council's inquiry on the effect of the housing cost yardstick on schemes in Offord Road and Nelson Place, Islington.
§ Mr. ChannonA reply will be sent as soon as the information requested has been obtained, but meanwhile the council has been asked to come and discuss with the Department as a matter of urgency all schemes for which it has received tenders. These particular schemes have not yet been put out to tender, but when tenders are received the Department will take into account local market conditions and reassess the yardstick figure accordingly.
