§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will cause an investigation to be made to ascertain how and why the hon. Member for West Ham, North, was told on 22nd September and 26th October, 1972, that matters he had referred to him on 8th August, 1972, concerning allegations against the police were in process of investigation and that the report of the investigation was likely to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, when it was not until 8th November, 1972, that the complainant had been interviewed by the police.
§ Mr. CarlisleThe Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis tells me that 489W the complainant was first interviewed by the police on 17th August.
