§ Mr. Gordon CampbellStatistics based on the records of the movement of National Health Service patients between executive council areas suggest that gross emigration from Scotland to other parts of the United Kingdom in the year to 30th June, 1972, was of the order of 69,500. Grossed-up figures supplied by the International Passenger Sample Survey indicate an outward movement from Scotland to overseas countries of some 22,700 in the same period. On the same basis, the countervailing inflow from all sources is of the order of 65,000.
