HC Deb 17 July 1972 vol 841 c35W
Mr. Donald Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what further discussions he is now having with regard to a conservation policy in relation to the extraction of oil from the Scottish sector of the North Sea.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

I have made arrangements which enable North Sea oil development and its impact on the environment to be kept under continuous review by those who are most concerned with it, including the Scottish Office, the local planning authorities, the Countryside Commission for Scotland and the Nature Conservancy.

If the hon. Member is concerned about the conservation of oil stocks, that is a question for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry.
