§ Mr. Stallardasked the Prime Minister if he will consider publishing in the OFFICIAL REPORT the result of his consideration of his correspondence with the hon. Member for St. Pancras, North concerning the form of the constitutional guarantee, contained in Section 1 of the Ireland Act, 1949, and the desirability of removing from the Parliament of Northern Ireland the power to control that guarantee, and transferring that power to the people of Northern Ireland by means of periodic referenda.
§ The Prime MinisterI do not think that this would be an appropriate use of the OFFICIAL REPORT, but the hon. Member is welcome, if he wishes, to disclose the contents of my letters to him on this subject.
