§ 50. Mr. Sydney Chapmanasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will abandon the cost controls on local authority house building programmes, following the changes in the form of housing subsidies on which housing cost yardsticks are based.
§ Mr. ChannonThe housing cost yardstick is now being applied flexibly in the light of local market conditions. When the effect of these arrangements can be assessed my right hon. and learned Friend will be ready to consider whether changes are needed.
