HC Deb 30 November 1971 vol 827 cc84-5W
Rear-Admiral Morgan-Giles

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what consideration he has given to the appeal by the Southampton City Council water undertaking against the refusal of the Hampshire River Authority to vary the existing licences for extraction of water from the Totford pumping stations; whether he is aware that this matter is involving widespread restrictions on building in a number of parishes in the area; how soon he expects to be able to determine this matter; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Graham Page

The parties have agreed that this appeal should be dealt with on the basis of written representations. My right hon. Friend will proceed to determine it when the parties have presented their respective cases. At the moment we are awaiting their initial statements.
