§ 61. Mr. Peter Archerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent discussions he has had with other partners in the World Bank as to the long-term needs of Pakistan in relation to reconstruction following the floods in November, 1970.
§ Mr. WoodBritain has discussed with the representatives of other donor countries in Dacca, and with the Pakistan authorities and World Bank representatives, the implementation of the Pakistan Government's Reconstruction Programme for the devastated areas in East Pakistan. We have offered an interest-free loan of £2 million as a contribution to this programme; discussions with the Pakistan Government on its use are not yet concluded.
