HC Deb 17 November 1970 vol 806 c387W
Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has made to and received from foreign governments concerning searches made by Her Majesty's naval vessels of foreign-owned vessels in the Irish Sea and British territorial waters since 1st November.

Mr. Kershaw

The Ambassador of the Irish Republic called on my hon. Friend the Joint Parliamentary Under-Secretary of Stale on Friday, 13th November, to express his Government's deep concern at the boarding and search by H.M. ships of certain vessels flying the flag of the Irish Republic. All the incidents referred to by the Ambassador took place within Northern Ireland territorial waters.
