asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to prevent the import of apples from Holland and France which have been treated with a cosmetic spray containing arsenic.

Mr. Hoy:

It is illegal under the Arsenic in Food Regulations, 1959 to import apples that contain more than one part per million of arsenic (by weight).
