§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Minister of Overseas Development what proposals she has for development assistance to India, following her recent visit to India.
§ Mrs. HartIn the light of what I learned during my visit I am considering our present programme in support of Indian development. My Chief Agricultural Adviser is now in India, and at my request is looking particularly at the needs of the dry areas in India for possible project and technical assistance support. Our pledge of new aid for 1970–71 will be announced at the next meeting of the India Consortium, which is expected to take place in May.
