§ Mr. Barry Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Wales what action has been taken by the local authorities of Wales so far with regard to Section 2 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act, 1970, involving amenities for the disabled; what steps he is taking in this matter; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasSection 2 of the Act did not come into force until 29th August and it is too early to measure the response of local authorities. It will be for them to assess the need in each case and to determine what assistance is practicable in the light of the resources available and the demands made on it.
