HC Deb 30 April 1970 vol 800 cc369-70W
47. Mr. Peter Archer

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she will take steps to establish a screening system for workers in lead industries to detect early symptoms of poisoning.

Mr. Harold Walker:

Many workers in lead industries are already required by regulations made under the Factories Act to undergo periodic medical examination. One of the tasks planned for the proposed new Employment Medical Advisory Service is to carry out periodic screening of workers in lead industries whether or not covered by regulations.
