§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many primary classes with more than 40 children exist in Kingston upon Hull; what percentage that is of the total; and what were the comparable figures 12 months ago.
§ Miss Bacon:In January, 1970 41 classes or 6.3 per cent. In January, 1969 136 classes or 14.4 per cent. Because of the introduction of middle schools the 1970 figures relate to a smaller age range than those for 1969.
