Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what reply he has given to the request of the Social Science Research Council for additional funds for postgraduate bursaries; and how many of these bursaries will be made in 1969–70 to students following courses in management and planning.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsI have informed the Chairman that provision has been made by my right hon. Friend for the additional funds requested by the Council. This will enable the Council to 203W award a further 144 postgraduate bursaries for courses in these subjects, bringing the total for 1969–70 to 400. I understand that 100 will be allocated to planning and 300 to management.
