asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the total amount of money spent by the Science Research Council annually on research and development in the United Kingdom; and how much of this money is spent in Wales.

The total expenditure in 1967–68 was £26,850,000, of which £463,000 was spent in Wales.
