§ Mr. SkeffingtonThe average amount of the reduction in the resources element grant payable to the 48 authorities for each £1 raised by the rating of vacant hereditaments is estimated to be 7s. 0d. This reflects the fact that for county district councils a substantial proportion, roughly two-thirds, of each £1 raised is payable to the county council and the resources element payable to the district councils is related to expenditure for local purposes only. For the county borough councils concerned (two only) the average reduction in resources element would be approximately £1.
