§ Mr. Lubbockasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what decisions he has made regarding the insurance position of nurses working for private agencies, as a result of the meeting held between officers of his Department and representatives of interested bodies on Monday, 9th December.

Although the insurance position of nurses was discussed, the prime purpose of having this informal meeting with certain nursing agencies was to re-examine the procedure for claiming refund of Selective Employment Tax in respect of agency nurses employed in households qualifying under Section 6 of the Selective Employment Payments Act.
